Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various San Francisco neighborhoods. Is one person's studio another person's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $4,000.

↑ This one-bedroom apartment in Mint Plaza has style and a price tag of $3,899/month. Located at Mint Plaza and 5th Street, it has polished concrete floors, large windows, a modern kitchen, weathered concrete walls (in a good way), and an obscured glass-enclosed bedroom. There's dishwasher, disposal, washer, and dryer in the unit. There's also a shared roof deck, gym, and hot tub. Pets are negotiable, and parking costs an extra $320/month.

↑ This one-bedroom apartment sits in a classic building with an Old-World lobby on the edge of Alamo Square. For $3,950/month, you get views of the park, a newer kitchen with a dishwasher and granite countertops, and nice hardwood floors. There is a laundry on-site and parking for an additional $295/month. No pets allowed, but a location near NoPa and all of its restaurants is a plus.

↑ Here's a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, single-family home in Glen Park fro $3,975/month. The house has a living room, newer kitchen with high-end appliances, newer bathroom, a deck, and a small yard. There's a washer and dryer and a one-car garage. It's just two blocks from a BART stop, close to several tech shuttle stops, and within walking distance of the restaurants and stores in Glen Park. No pets allowed.

↑ In Noe Valley, you can rent a one-bedroom apartment at 660 Clipper for $3,995/month. This apartment has views over the city and out to the distant bay. There's a narrow balcony where you can take it all in. Inside, there are pretty hardwood floors and a small kitchen with sleek cabinets and a dishwasher. The listing says there is a washer and dryer in the unit, although just one of those is pictured. There's only street parking here. Residents are allowed to have pets that aren't aggressive and under 40 pounds (manager must approve), and there's a $75/month fee for each animal. The residence is within walking distance of several shops, restaurants, and coffee shops.
