A Just Remodeled Bernal Heights Home Offers Style and Space

New, 3 comments

We don't know what the home at 270 Nevada Street used to look like, but judging by the fact that it sold in June 2014 for $876,000, we are guessing that it was quite different than it appears today (and likely a lot smaller). After about a year-and-a-half of renovation, the house is back on the market, and it has a new look and a new price: $1.895 million. Now, the house is very modern and is chock-full of the amenities that seem to be buyer magnets. The new house has a mid-level kitchen, a dining room, and a family room that are all open to each other. A large, accordion-glass door links the space to a courtyard-like side yard. Those panels are mirrored by, well, mirrors on the opposite wall—an interior design move probably employed to make the area seem less narrow. But if the new owners want to take in something more expansive, they could always head upstairs.

The upper level has two bedrooms. One is the master, and it has a really pretty bathroom with some attractive encaustic-style tile on the floor (although the mirrors have not yet been installed here). There's a large walk-in closet (although it's not yet tricked out with shelving. You get the feeling the paint has just dried in this house). The other bedroom has a pretty water view, although you have to look through some power lines to see it. There's also a full bath on this level.

The listing says that there's been a lot of attention paid to the details in this house, and we don't doubt it. This is a flip with some interesting design elements.
