For the first time, residential developers will have to pay transit impact fees on new development thanks to a proposal that passed through the city's Land Use and Economic Development Committee yesterday. But the rates won't be nearly as high as some members of the Board of Supervisors wanted. Developers fought back against the new fees, saying that they would stymie the creation of new housing in the city. [SF Examiner]
