Tomorrow Lyft is going to be providing scares as well as rides. CNET is reporting that the company known for their pink mustache logo is working with Skybound, the creators of The Walking Dead comics, to deliver free on-demand zombies in San Francisco between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on the day before Halloween. That means an undead guest for your office meeting or house party is just a swipe away. Here's how it works: Starting at 10 a.m., the Lyft app will provide the option of switching to "zombie mode," and from there you can order a zombie with, in the words of a Lyft promotional, an "insatiable hunger for human flesh." The brain eater will be shepherded by an experienced Lyft handler.
The handler delivers the zombie in chains. Upon arrival, the undead will be released from the shackles and havoc and (as CNET speculates) a lot of zombie selfies will ensue. You can experience the stunt vicariously on Twitter by following LyftZombieMode or checking out #LyftZombieMode.
This is second marketing event this month from Lyft. On October 21st, they marked Back to the Future Day with free rides in a DeLorean.
