Victorians would make terrible high-rises. Aside from being massive firetraps, they'd require entry staircases somewhere on the magnitude of the Vulcan Stairs. Caught between a fidelity to San Francisco's architectural past and a grudging acknowledgment that shunning all development tends to backfire, the Bold Italic took to Photoshop to imagine what a city of gingerbreaded high-rises might look like, with living rooms that feel like atriums and bay windows on the scale of hotel ballrooms. There are no interior shots, but we'd imagine the moldings would be fat enough to lie down in. The full photoset is this way.
