Victorians would make terrible high-rises. Aside from being massive firetraps, they'd require entry staircases somewhere on the magnitude of the Vulcan Stairs. Caught between a fidelity to San Francisco's architectural past and a grudging acknowledgment that shunning all development tends to backfire, the Bold Italic took to Photoshop to imagine what a city of gingerbreaded high-rises might look like, with living rooms that feel like atriums and bay windows on the scale of hotel ballrooms.
