Development Watch

One of the most sought-after development sites in Oakland is Uptown's vacant 1911 Telegraph Avenue, and the eight developers who have submitted proposals for the site have widely varying visions of its future. Ideas include both high-rise housing and a hotel on the site, while other proposals pitch midrise housing and retail with no hotel. The City of Oakland owns the land and will have the final say on which plan moves forward. [SF Business Times/Photo via City of Oakland]
