After being closed for more than four years because of high demand, San Francisco's public housing waitlist will reopen in mid-January for five days to homeless San Franciscans. The reopening is thanks to $2.6 million in funding to renovate up to 200 units in the Sunnydale and Potrero Hill public housing complexes. The waitlist currently has about 1,100 names on it, and the Housing Authority's deputy executive director expects a couple thousand more to be added this time around. [SF Appeal]
