That unfamiliar sight to the right is San Francisco's skyline as captured by an aerial photographer in 1959. The Chronicle dug into its archives to compare aerials from the same vantage point between 1959, 1979, and today. Even if the Embarcadero Freeway were still here, it would no longer be visible from behind the thicket of skyscrapers. [SFGate]
