Tall Order

Although Berkeley's Measure R, which would have put into place tougher standards on tall buildings, failed at the ballot box back in November, the city's residents continue to push back against building up. The Residences at Berkeley Plaza, a proposed 18-story mixed-use building that would replace a movie theater and children's museum, is the latest to draw the ire of Berkeley residents. More than 400 people have signed a petition against the building, citing a desire to keep the theater intact and opposition to the building's size and density. [SF Business Times]
