Statue of Limitations

After 42 years at Candlestick Park, the 27-foot statue of St. Francis will be needing a new home now that the stadium is set to be razed. The demolition, which will begin any day now, is sending the cast-concrete, steel-reinforced statue—designed by artist Ruth Wakefield Cravath—packing, potentially to a park or perhaps to the new Candlestick Point development. For now, though, it's just going into storage. [SFGate; previously]
