It's Official: Los Altos Hills' Grand Morgan Estate Sells for $25M

New, 5 comments

Late last week, we speculated that the sprawling Tudor-style Morgan Estate of Los Altos Hills may have finally sold after being on and off the market for six years. The sale has now been made official with a final price of $25 million, less than the $27 million ask and much, much less than the home's original list price of $45 million—but still a massive sale. Kelly Porter, the venture capitalist who rescued the property from its former run-down state, sold the home, which is also known as Stonebrook Court, to Nora Lacey, president of biotech company Cell Marque Corporation.

Realtor Arthur Sharif represented Porter in the sale and told Business Insider that there were multiple offers on the estate, and that one of the most important things to the seller was finding someone who would appreciate the architecture of the home. Porter's renovation required the work of more than 1,000 artisans and was led by Richard Beard of BAR Architects. The compound now includes four structures, including a guest house and a caretaker's facility with a gym. One of the highlights of the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom property is a secret speakeasy hidden behind a false door in the library.
