Last Week's Biggest Sales: Blockbusters Take a Break

Listed for: $1.895M
Received: $2.333M
Size: 3-bed, 3-bath, 2,450-square-foot single-family home
Location: 181 Randall St, Glen Park
The skinny: This recently renovated home last sold in January 2011 for $1.31 million, and came on the market in the fall seeking a (for these times) modest increase of just over $500K. The new sale price is a full $1 million over the old one, and in exchange for forking over nearly an extra half a million, the new buyer gets a master bedroom with downtown views and one of those inevitable flat-panel gas fireplace-thingies.

Listed for: $1.795M
Received: $2.215M
Size: 3-bed, 4-bath, 2,690-square-foot condo
Location: 3736 Cesar Chavez, Noe Valley
The skinny: This is a garden-level condo that touts everything about the garden. There's a "sliding glass wall" (otherwise known as a door) leading out to it from the main living space, and the master bedroom has a private patio (concrete strip) with a living wall (plants). Did we mention there's a garden?

Listed for: $1.95M
Received: $2.05M
Size: 3-bed, 2.25-bath, 2,050-square-foot single-family home
Location: 964 Clayton St, Buena Vista Park
The skinny: Though it looks pretty bland from the street, 964 Clayton has some lovely details inside, from the surfeit of wood paneling in the dining room to the original-looking fireplace in the living room (provided you ignore the ram's head above the mantel). But a lot has been changed, too: The kitchen's all new, and most of the finishes and fixtures have been changed out for their blah contemporary equivalents.
