Without even waiting for Frank Gehry to put the finishing touches on its second Menlo Park lair, Facebook has acquired the neighboring TE Connectivity campus for $101.6 million. At 1M square feet, the 59-building, 10-acre property at 300 Constitution Drive is way larger (and even more westerly) than the now-frankly-piddly 420,000-square-foot West Campus currently being erected by Gehry. The deal, which closed at the end of last week, leaves the Swiss-based electronics maker TE in search of a new home, but don't expect renderings of Zuck's next playground to surface anytime soon. Facebook is mum on development plans. [SF Business Times]
