After launching last week, a petition aiming to preserve the San Francisco Flower Mart has already collected more than 6,000 signatures. It's addressed to the developer currently planning an office building for the site, Kilroy Realty, as well as the San Francisco Flower Growers' Association and the San Francisco Housing Authority. Petition website Care2, which has members all over the world, is hosting the document, so it has signatories from far-flung locales like Bulgaria, Russia, and Spain.
