Oversharing Economy

Very little good news can be squeezed from the drought, but there is one thing! Now that a trio of interaction designers in Hong Kong has devised a way to share the unoccupied (??) space beneath your umbrella with a stranger via a taxi-like beacon, rest assured that San Francisco will be spared this one over-the-top innovation in the sharing economy. Ride sharing, coworking, (legal) short-term rentals, why not? But disruptions to the personal weather-protection market? At least the drought can save us from something. [CityLab]
