After lying vacant for the better part of the decade, today the Hollywood Billiards site at Market and Golden Gate reopened as a temporary food hall rather descriptively named the Hall. The structure—an early 20th-century warehouse-turned-theater-turned-strip club-turned-billiard parlor—is taking an intermission while developers get their plans for a residential mini-tower in order, thus making now a great time for snacking.
As you recall, former Under Armour clothing executive Scott Plank scooped up the property last year, and developer War Horse, in collaboration with Tidewater Capital, has put SCB Architects to work designing a new 13-story building that will bring 186 apartments. Which means the Hollywood Billiards structure is not long for this world. Our sister site Eater has all the tasty deets on the vendors, from Moroccan-Peruvian fusion to Vietnamese, which starts with "v" and that rhymes with "p" which stands for Planning hearing.
