Yelp just scooped up all 45,572 square feet at the soon-to-be finished College Terrace Centre in Palo Alto. In doing so, the San Francisco-based website has greatly expanded its presence in the South Bay and bucked the trend of Silicon Valley–based businesses leasing up space in the city. Several other city-based companies—most notably Square and Twitter—have also recently increased their South Bay square footage in effort to attract employees who don't want to commute north.
