Lost Eichler of Oakland Hills Found for $789,000

New, 6 comments

When this Claude Oakland-designed Eichler came on the market last month for $765K, we were impressed with its A-frame symmetry, its outdoor atrium, and its intactness. We knew this abode—one of the Lost Eichlers of Oakland Hills—wouldn't last long. Indeed, this week some midcentury buffs came along and scooped it up for $789K. Built in 1965, the home has five bedrooms, two baths, and what look to be the original globe lights. The only bedroom shown in the pictures is a wee bit small, but for less than $800K that's A-OK. We're honestly surprised it didn't go for more. It's got more spark than this one in San Rafael, which listed for $915K and is currently pending.
