One of the city's most notorious SROs will be reborn as supportive housing for homeless veterans. 250 Kearny, formerly known as the Stanford Hotel, is receiving $10 million in renovations and, come November, 130 of the city's most vulnerable vets. Nearly three-quarters of the rent fees will be covered by US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the US Department of Veterans Affairs; residents will pay 30 percent of their adjusted income. The city's 10-year lease agreement with building owners is up for approval today at the Board of Supervisors. [SFGate]
