Frenemies of the Urban Forest

New, 1 comment

Just this morning we passed along word that Apple's new Foster-designed HQ in Cupertino would be green as can be, with power supplied exclusively by renewables like wind and solar. Now that narrative is doubling back on itself, donut-like, as CBS Local reports on the hullaballoo emerging around Apple's wish to remove seven tulip trees at the site of its planned Union Square store. The Department of Public Works says the trees are healthy and should not be cut down; Apple's arborist argues that the trees are in ill health. Also: Apple has an arborist. [CBS Local; previously]
