West Portal Ex-Bank Receives Infusion of Giant Play Structures

From the Curbed inbox:

After several years (or so it seems) the Blatteis Realty "For Lease" sign has been removed from the former Walgreens/1st Interstate Bank building at 2 West Portal Avenue. The windows and doors are covered by brown paper. Have you heard any buzz? The good-looking WPA-era Moderne building at 2 West Portal is about to get a mega-influx of energy. The long-vacant corner will soon be filled with tiny kiddos playing to their heart's content. Peek-a-Boo Factory, the self-described "premier indoor playground and party place," will be moving into the space soon.

Within the past couple of months they've gotten permits to make some major interior changes, including creating a party room and classroom at the old cashier area, removing walls to create a toddler play area, and installing some pretty crazy-looking playground structures. According to their Facebook page, the space is set to open in mid-September, so should be any day now.
