Will the Dive Bar Hotspot Ever Reopen on Market Street?

What's going on with the still-under-construction 1414 Market that used to house Hotspot? Construction appeared to be moving along for a while but now it seems to be at a standstill. What's going into that place? The upper floors on the building in question are actually home to a strange hotel/hostel/dorm setup. Known alternatively as the New Central Hotel and Golden Gate Hall, it used to function as the dorms for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and now apparently is also a tourist hotel (with very unfavorable reviews). There are a bunch of retail spots on the ground floor, all of which were scheduled to get a renovation according to building permits filed last September.

Hotspot closed up earlier this year for the reno, but things have hit a snag. According to their Facebook page, in February they faced "unexpected problems" and announced they would be "pushing opening date back 3-4 weeks." Fast-forward to April and they canceled their reopening indefinitely "due to legal action with [their] slumlord." Apparently the bar was not functional and they didn't know how long mediation with the landlord would take. It's been over four months now, and the bar has been radio silent.
