50 Shades of Green

Tomorrow the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will present final designs for the Baker Beach Green Street project, an effort that will beautify several streets in the Outer Richmond and improve water quality at Baker Beach. El Camino Del Mar near the Legion of Honor and Sea Cliff Avenue between 25th and 26th streets will be the beneficiaries of the green infrastructure buildout, which will use soil and plants to manage rainwater runoff before it overwhelms the sewer system and affects the city's beaches. The plans also call for increased bird and butterfly habitat and improvements for cyclists. [Richmond SF]
