San Francisco is about to get its first raised bike lane on the southbound side of Valencia Street from Cesar Chavez to Duncan. Although the lane will only be one block, it's a sign of things to come: Similar lanes are planned for improvement projects at Masonic and Second streets. The Valencia lane is part of the Mission Valencia Green Gateway, which will also bring two new plazas and wider sidewalks. [SF Bicycle Coalition]
