A 32-foot outdoor movie screen went up on the PROXY site in Hayes Valley back at the end of May, but the screen won't be up and running in time for a fall film festival as originally planned. Architects Envelope A+D have had to apply for a new permit for the space that covers everything from movies to fitness classes, holiday crafts fairs, and live performances. The timetable for any of these activities now depends on SF Planning's permitting process, meaning that it's as far up in the air as the giant movie screen. [Hoodline]
