Flipping Out

After spending the better part of a year on the market, a drastic renovation of a Sea Cliff midcentury house finally sold last week for $3.925M. The flippers, who picked up the property in 2011 for $1.575M, got busy installing Brazilian teak floors and transforming the top level into a glassed-in penthouse. Earlier this year they delisted after failing to get $3.998M, but even with the $73K chop, the gain was a solid 2.5-fold increase. [Redfin; previously]
