Crimes Against Urbanity

Today John King rounds up 10 buildings the Bay Area would be better off without. Of these "wardrobe malfunctions of the architectural kind," eight hail from SF; dishonorable mentions also went to two Oakland structures. Blacklistees include the St. Francis Hotel (a "dark and dumpy" grande dame), the duo of squat towers at Fourth and King ("cardboard packing boxes have more character"), and the rear view of Hotel Vitale ("This is why God invented ivy").
