Although there are nearly 3 million square feet of office space currently being built in San Francisco, 70 percent of it has been gobbled up before it is even finished. Data from commercial real estate brokers Cushman and Wakefield show that 100 percent of all preleased space has gone to tech companies. Landlords are also responding to the tech land rush by making changes such as removing dropped ceilings, a trend that has taken hold in 14 percent of the city's commercial building space.
