For SF newbies, or any established folk who just take a while to catch on, the Chronicle has put together a pronunciation guide of Bay Area proper names. The debate is far from settled on a few counts (Junipero Serra, Kearny, "Potrera" Hill!), but most are black-and-white yes or no (Gough, Ulloa).
