Plans Move Ahead for 9-Story SoMa Mixed-Use Building

Plans for the two-story Ed's Autohaus building at 768 Harrison Street in SoMa to be replaced by a nine-story mixed-use building are moving right along. The new building, which would be right next to microcondo development Cubix, would include 26 residential units, 5,000 square feet of office space and a bit of retail. Designed by Ian Birchall and Associates, it would also have a courtyard with a green wall and a roof deck. The new building is near many downtown amenities, including the new Fourth Street Muni line, and so would have no room for parking. The plans require a Large Project Authorization because the building's proposed 84 feet exceed the 75-foot height limit.
