The old Jessica McClintock office and warehouse at Showplace Square will be transformed into R&D space for SF's makers and manufacturers, in a redevelopment led by a joint venture that includes ABS Real Estate Investments. The three-building Art Deco complex, which warehoused the nation's taffeta and adolescent longings for four decades, will presumably attract exactly the kind of maker pixie dust that Supervisor Malia Cohen was thinking of when she blocked Pinterest from leasing 2 Henry Adams Street.
