The Shell gas station has just been razed at 19th / Lincoln in Sunset. What's to come? Basically the gas station at the busy intersection is getting a major overhaul, but it will remain a Shell station. The existing building was demo'd in favor a much larger convenience store and car wash combo. The pumps will all stay, but they'll get a spruced up new canopy overhead. With the new car wash use, the whole lot will get a new layout so cars can loop through the wash. The neighborhood's merchant association wasn't a fan of the project, saying the new use will cause to much traffic at an already crazy intersection, but the project was approved anyway.
