Another Mixed-use Housing Project Slated for Hayes Valley

New, 4 comments

The building boom in Hayes Valley continues, with a new mixed-use project heading for 580 Hayes Street. If approved by the Planning Commission this week, the project will demo a one-story commercial building and parking lot for a five-story building designed by Sternberg Benjamin Architects with 29 residential units (14 being either 2BR or 3BR), three ground floor restaurant spaces with outdoor seating, and basement parking with 15 residential and five commercial parking spaces. The project sponsor is opting to pay the Affordable Housing Fee, so all the units will be market-rate. There hasn't been much opinion one way or the other on this project, but the Hayes Valley Merchants Association is on board and Planning Staff is recommending approval. · Conditional Use Application - 580 Hayes [SF Planning]
