The Transbay Terminal has gone $300 million over budget, so the money that was initially set aside for a rooftop park will instead go toward construction costs. This means the the park will likely not be built by the time the terminal opens in 2017 and that private dollars will need to be raised for it. The park, designed by PWP Landscape Architecture, is meant to have rolling meadows and lawns, redwood and oak trees, and butterfly and bird gardens. [SFGate]
