Pac Heights Home Once Owned by Meg Ryan Lists for $8.995M

New, 3 comments

This grand Pacific Avenue home has a more ornate facade than many of its pricey neighbors and was owned by Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid back in the 1990s. It has been the site of film and TV shoots as well as the location for a Pottery Barn commercial. Built in 1889, the exterior has retained intricate detailing with peaked roofs and ornamental touches. Inside, the main living area opens up with a wide staircase surrounded by woodworked walls and ceilings. There are 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths, one of which includes a Jacuzzi tub with views out to the Bay. A "pentroom" on the top floor uses the shapes of the home's windows and designs to create a unique space with a glassed-in turret. The house was designed by architect Samuel Newsom, who was known for his Queen Anne homes and also designed the Oakland and Berkeley city halls and the Napa Valley Opera House. · 2602 Pacific Avenue [SF Properties]
