Dolores Park Remodel Moving Into Above-Ground Phase

Three and a half months into its makeover, Dolores Park is seeing some serious progress. According to Cara Ruppert from Rec and Park, "a lot of concrete will be poured" this week. There will be new steps going in on the park-side of the bridge and the 19th Street promenade will get underway. The north restroom and operation building are ready to rise, meaning that above-ground improvements will start to show after months of the park's northern half appearing to be just a giant pile of dirt. The renovation, which will cost $13.2 million in total, has three and a half more months of work on the park's northern end before moving over to the south side until summer 2015. While Dolores is half-closed, go visit some of the city's other divine parks and green spaces.
