First Look Inside Stanley Saitowitz's Long-Awaited 8 Octavia

New, 16 comments

The hotly-anticipated 8 Octavia in Hayes Valley is nearly complete, and we have exclusive pictures to share of its sleek, clean, interiors in concept units curated by The Future Perfect and Propeller. The glass-lined building has been designed for what architect Stanley Saitowitz describes as "the San Francisco of the iPhone, not the Victorian" and sits in a prime Hayes Valley location. There will be 47 condos in total, ranging from compact junior-one bedrooms with 726 feet of living space up to luxurious three-bedroom penthouses with more than 1,700 square feet and their own private roof decks. Pricing hasn't been set yet, but developers DDG and DM Development assure us that it will be most definitely over $1,000 per square and that they are just trying to figure out exactly how much over to go. The building's main feature is its distinctive glass louvered facade. The louvers can be operated by residents to control light, privacy and temperature in the units. Wide-plank oak floors come from an Austrian Benedictine monastery that has been creating wood products since 1074, and kitchen cabinets are from SieMatic and handle-free. Amenities include smartphone-controlled keyless entry, a virtual doorman and Nest thermostats in every unit. Expect sales to start soon and move-ins to begin this Fall.
