After all the years of drama over the North Beach Library, the new building is finally set for a grand opening on May 10. The new North Beach Branch, which is the last of 24 libraries to be remodeled or rebuilt under the Branch Library Improvement Program, is a 8,500 sq.ft, two-story building and will feature a public art sound sculpture called Sonic Dreamscape with "sounds of North Beach" broadcast through waterproof speakers.
