Construction Ready to Start on $150M Market Street Place

More than a year ago, the old Saint Francis Theater along with surrounding buildings were demolished to make way for Market Street Place, an upcoming 250,000 square-foot retail development. Since then the site at Market and Fifth streets has since sat mostly untouched, but construction of the center is now about to kick off in full force. Developer Cypress Equities will start the building without having secured any actual tenants after Target, Marshalls, JC Penney and Nordstrom Rack all decided to go elsewhere. Market Street Place is now looking to go more upscale after finding more interest from specialty retailers. Construction is slated to take 24 months.
