What Does it Take to Double the Price of an Outer Sunset Flip?

New, 7 comments

Last June, a rundown house on 40th Avenue sold to flippers for $745,000. Its listing described it as "a place that needs a lot of work." In the year that followed, the house's narrow hallways were opened up to form an open-plan living space and the four bedrooms, two of which were unwarranted, have become five. The kitchen is filled with premium appliances and solid maple cabinets. What was previously dark and cramped is now bright and airy. The house listed for $1.18 million in April and just sold for $1.545 million, which is $365,000 over asking and $800,000 more than its sale price last year.
