On the heels of the news that KRON-TV's headquarters have been sold to become housing comes a new rendering of what that housing could look like. The rendering was created to market the building and show the potential of the site, which ultimately sold for $26 million. The property offers three extensive street frontages on Van Ness, O'Farrell and Myrtle Lane. The new building that will replace KRON's headquarters will likely be a midrise with up to 200 units, and will be, according to new owners Oryx Partners "a sustainable building of the highest quality." Oryx won out over other interested parties that included medical office and tech office candidates.
