Moving In

The Bay Area is the fastest growing area in California, and is the only region in the state where more people are moving in from other regions of the country than are moving out. Santa Clara and Alameda counties were growth leaders, while San Francisco saw a 1.3 percent population increase, boosted mainly by immigration from foreign countries. California's overall population grew by 332,000 residents last year to 38.2 million, the largest gain since 2003-2004. [San Jose Mercury]
