New urban gardens have been popping up in areas like NOPA thanks to some help from Friends of the Urban Forest. The organization can provide funding, Department of Public Works approval assistance and help with design and building to neighborhoods with a lead organizer and a minimum of 15 properties interested in taking part. One of the biggest projects built so far is a block-long series of gardens on Broderick from Hayes to Fulton. [Hoodline]
