The SFMTA is examining how to improve Muni service to the city's low-income and minority neighborhoods, including the Tenderloin, the Bayview and Chinatown. Low-income residents comprise a large percentage of Muni's passengers, with 51% of riders living in low-income households. SFMTA is using census data to determine where low-income passengers live and how to best serve them. [SF Examiner]
