The Sounds of North Beach

This month Sonic Dreamscape, an audio art piece featuring the sounds of North Beach, opens at the North Beach library. The project was created by sound artist Bill Fontana who is a resident of the neighborhood. The sounds, some of which were recorded as long ago as 1979, include the Chinatown markets, parades, foghorns, sea lions, parrots, and children. [San Francisco Magazine]
