In-Laws Go Legal

If approved by the Board of Supervisors today, existing in-law units constructed without permits will have a chance to go legit by streamlining the process. It would basically waive the need for open space, and exposure requirements so long as other existing units meet open space requirements, rear yard requirements, and density limit requirement. The idea is to open up more legal rental housing as part of the Mayor's plan to address housing shortage. [SF Gov/previously on Curbed SF]
