Bikeshare Woes

The planned expansion of Bay Area Bikeshare to the Mission, the Castro, Hayes Valley and Mission Bay has been delayed until at least fall. Bixi, the company that creates the bikeshare systems, recently went bankrupt and is now up for sale, meaning that the production of San Francisco's seventeen planned new stations is on hold indefinitely. The announcement comes on the heels of a recommendation from the SFCTA to expand the system significantly in the city. [Streetsblog SF]
