Earlier this month, ground was broken on upgrades to the Bayview Opera House Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre, which has graced the corner of Third and Newcomb since 1888. Over the coming months, construction crews will expand the building's lobby and upgrade landscaping and lighting outside the historic structure. When the $5.3M project wraps up, visitors and neighborhood residents will also have access to a new garden and outdoor theatre space, located just behind the building. The Opera House is closed during its facelift, but regular visitors don't have to miss out on any of the center's usual offerings. Luckily, BVOH will operate from a temporary location at 4702 Third Street until their revamped digs are ready.
