Park Alert

We've always known NorCal is appealing, but what we didn't know is that this appeal extends back into literary history.Robert Louis Stevenson spent a summer honeymooning in Napa's St. Helena (he described the wine he found there as "bottled poetry"), and today you can follow in his footsteps. Trails throughout the author's namesake state park will lead you past the memorial museum hosting the largest collection of Stevenson artifacts in the world (including not only locks of his infant hair but also his nanny's), and park exhibits include a period-decorated Victorian cottage in a mock-up of the abandoned mining camp he and his bride called home.
