Start-Up Space

Start-up rents comprise a fairly minor portion of overall spending, according to the results of a survey sent out to start-ups that have graduated from the prestigious Y Combinator accelerator program. The median rent paid by respondents is $6,100 per month for space for about ten employees, and most of the companies were located in San Francisco or the South Bay. Companies in Palo Alto are paying almost twice as much per square foot as those in San Francisco. [Priceonomics]
